A Wrinkle in Time

A Wrinkle in Time - Madeleine L'Engle This has been on my to-read shelf for a long time now and I never knew why I have been putting it off. Now that I have already read it, I can't wait to get my hands on its sequel.

Meg is the eldest of four and a problem at her school. Her youngest brother, Charles Wallace, is the only one who can really understand her. Hers is an eccentric and tight-knit family, that is, until, her father went missing. This has sparked rumors in the neighborhood and at school causing her to be more of a problem. One stormy night, a certain Mrs. Whatsit came upon their house and thus, began the start of a quest to save their father and, maybe, of themselves.

I never knew that science fiction could be this good. And a classic too. I am not really inclined to reading SciFis but it was a good thing that I made an exception for this. I really loved the writing style. It made feel for the characters and felt that I was part of the story. It's a great read for children and adults alike.
